Tropical Islands (Largest Indoor Waterpark in the world -- just outside Berlin)
The kids outside the Largest Indoor waterpark in the world ... The dome is big enough to fit the Statue of Liberty standing up in it's center, and the Eiffel Tower lying on it's side lengthwise. The world base jumping championships were held INSIDE the dome this past year -- skydivers jumped off the inside of the dome ... It was built by a company called CARGOLIFTER in the late 1990's who set out to build the largest dirigible airships in the world to haul huge cargo pieces -- the company went broke in 2001 and a waterpark emerged -- it's AMAZING how huge it is inside -- and always a balmy 78 degrees :-)
One of three Lagoons inside the dome.
Four water slides with the customary German speed slide that gives you a ride about 50 miles per hour ....
6 restaurants and 3 snack shacks inside the park
German "Berg" Pedalcars -- you can get these hummers going about 20 mph around the track :-)
Erin and I took a ride in the Helium balloon that goes up inside the dome ...
Waterfalls and Lazy river in one of the Lagoons
Erin and I on the helium balloon You can pay about $50 for 4 people to camp inside the dome in tents -- it's open 24x7x365
